In a 2018 Concord Monitor profile, Ernie and Shawn Roberts described the work behind Meadow Ledge’s cider donuts. Ernie bought the farm in 1994, and Shawn explained that the recipe brought together elements of the earlier farm recipe and one developed by his grandmother, Alice.
It’s a story of family craft and attention to the batch in front of you. Out in the orchard and inside the country store, that personal connection is what makes a local farm feel familiar.
